What To Pack For Rehab?

Now that you have decided to begin treatment at our UK Rehab East Coast Recovery, it is time to prepare for your stay with us. Knowing what to bring with you and what to leave behind is an important part of helping you get the most out of your time with us. This guide will help you focus on what is most important – YOU GETTING BETTER.

 

What Medication To Bring

It is very important to bring enough supply of ALL prescription medication to last your entire planned stay with us. For clarity, if you are staying with us for 28 days, you MUST bring at least a 28 day supply with you. If you are staying with us for 56 days, you must bring at least a 56  day supply with you. 

Furthermore, ALL of this medication MUST be in the original pharmacy bottle/box with the information label intact. Any prescribed liquid medications must be new and in a sealed/unopened bottle/box

You must contact your G.P Surgery to arrange a fresh supply of unopened liquids.

What Medication NOT To Bring

Be sure to bring just 7 days worth of comfortable, season/weather appropriate clothing, including:

  • Shoes: Comfortable shoes for everyday wear, trainers/tennis shoes for activities/sports and flip-flops for the shower
  • Swim Wear and Gym Kit, if you have selected the Optional Leisure Package
  • One or two “dressy” outfits for special occasions
  • Socks, undergarments, pyjamas, bathrobe and slippers
  • Coat/Jacket/Hat/Scarf
  • Belt
  • x2 Towels and a Flannel

 

What To Bring To Rehab

We recommend that new residents pack the following items:

  • 7 Days Worth of Appropriate Seasonal Clothing
  • A list of names, addresses and phone numbers of people you wish to have involved in your treatment (family and loved ones, healthcare professionals, 12 Step Sponsor, etc.)
  • An Alarm Clock
  • A small amount of cash. Maximum of £60 in £5 & £10 notes for personal shopping.
  • A Credit or Debit Card so you can buy treats things during your stay.
  • A recognized form of identification (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
  • Universal Credit\ESA benefit letters (if applicable)
  • Written details of any current fines (if applicable)
  • An A4 pad
  • Stamps and envelopes if you wish to mail letters
  • Picture(s) of your loved ones to keep in your room
  • If you enjoy reading, please bring up to 5 books

 

What NOT To Bring To Rehab

There are a number of prohibited items not permitted at East Coast Recovery:

  • Vehicles (Car, Motorcycle, Scooter, Bike, Skates, etc)
  • No un-necessary valuable items including (and not limited to) jewelry/expensive watches
  • Drugs, or Alcohol or Prohibited Prescriptions
  • Drug or Alcohol Paraphernalia
  • Weapons
  • Pornography
  • Mouthwash containing alcohol
  • Nail Polish Remover (should be handed in to staff)
  • Video Games, CD’s and DVD’s
  • Sporting Equipment
  • Revealing Clothing
  • Cleaning Supplies (bleach, ammonia, etc)
  • Electronics (cameras, televisions, laptops, radios, gaming consoles, tablets, etc)
  • Candles and Incense
  • Clothing with profanity or references to drugs, alcohol or violence
  • Lighter Fluid
  • Any medication or homely remedies not prescribed by a doctor e.g. Vitamins, Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Gaviscon, etc
