Addiction had me right where it wanted me, alone and miserable. Then it tried to kill me. The turning point for me was the realization that this pain was never going to end if I didn’t do something about it. Even though I didn’t feel I was worth saving, I allowed others to show me the way. I was loved back to life. And not only has my life been saved, my family have been given what they needed to heal from what I put them through.

What I love about being a treatment advisor is being that beacon of light and hope for individuals and their families that recovery is possible. Addiction doesn’t have to win, and I am living proof of that.
